The creative process

My creative work always takes its natural starting point in the scope of the task and thus depends on how many disciplines I am involved in and what the starting point is when I enter the task.

The overall hierarchical flow is based on the following holistic interior design philosophy that I work from:

Architecture > Materiality > Colors > Lighting > Art & Interiors > Interior Design

The flow model should be understood to mean that I can only 'move to the right' when the previous process is in place. In some tasks, I start from the very beginning at Architecture - for example, extensions, major renovations and new builds. In other projects, some of the previous processes have already been completed satisfactorily, and we can jump straight to, for example, the work with colors.

Color plan

When we delve into the concrete work process for working with a color plan, the process will often look like this:

The work with the color plan includes the following processes, partly internally with me and partly in collaboration with you as a customer:

  1. Initial talk where we identify the chemistry, economics and framework of the task

  2. Start-up meeting at the address

  3. Based on the kick-off meeting, extensive research is carried out

  4. My creative proposal will be prepared

  5. Presentation of creative proposal (again, I always prefer a physical meeting, but in some cases it can be done online with screen sharing)

  6. Adaptation of wishes according to feedback from the first presentation

  7. Handover of the adapted presentation, after which the assignment is considered completed

The above process is specific to the development of color plans, but it covers in principle most of my creative deliverables.

It is important for me to emphasize that in my creative work I have a high degree of focus on the holistic - the desire to create a coherence across spaces, and all elements are therefore carefully thought out. If one color in a room needs to be replaced, it can potentially overturn the overall flow, and thus necessitate a new creative process. It is important to me that you as a customer have the understanding and respect for this creative work process.

I always strive to be clear and transparent so that we are 100% aligned on where we are in the process and what lies ahead.
